1 Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms: By accessing or using thebillflow.com ("BillFlow," "the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this Service.

1.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use BillFlow. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of a family unit, you are responsible for ensuring all members comply with these Terms.

3 Third-Party Services

โš ๏ธ Important: BillFlow integrates with third-party services to provide banking connectivity and payment processing. By using these features, you agree to each provider's terms and privacy policies. BillFlow is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or data practices of these third-party providers.

3.1 Plaid โ€” Banking & Financial Data Connectivity

Plaid Technologies, Inc.

BillFlow uses Plaid to securely connect your bank accounts, credit cards, and investment accounts. When you choose to connect a financial institution, you are interacting directly with Plaid's secure connection infrastructure.

Plaid โ€” Scope of Responsibility

๐Ÿ”ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Storing and displaying the financial data that Plaid provides to us, maintaining secure access tokens, and calling Plaid's APIs on your behalf.


๐Ÿ”ต Plaid's Responsibility: The actual connection to your financial institution, credential handling and authentication with your bank, the security of the bank-to-Plaid data transmission, OAuth flows with financial institutions, and compliance with financial data security regulations (PCI DSS, SOC 2 Type II). Your banking credentials (username, password) are never shared with BillFlow โ€” they go directly to Plaid.

3.2 Stripe โ€” Payment Processing

Stripe, Inc.

All subscription payments are processed by Stripe. BillFlow never sees, touches, or stores your credit card number, expiry date, or CVV. Payment data goes directly from your browser to Stripe's servers.

Stripe โ€” Scope of Responsibility

๐Ÿ”ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Initiating payment requests, tracking subscription status, and providing subscription management within the app.


๐Ÿ”ต Stripe's Responsibility: All credit/debit card processing, fraud detection for payments, PCI DSS compliance for cardholder data, refund processing, and subscription billing cycles. BillFlow never has access to your card details.

3.3 GoDaddy โ€” Hosting Infrastructure

BillFlow is hosted on GoDaddy's managed hosting infrastructure. Your data is stored in a MySQL database on GoDaddy's servers, protected by:

4 Data Storage & Security

4.1 Security Measures

All BillFlow data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.

BillFlow stores a copy of your financial data in your browser's localStorage for performance and offline access. This data is stored on your device and is accessible only by the BillFlow application. Clearing your browser data will remove this local copy; your data remains on our servers and will be restored on next login.

5 Subscription & Billing

5.1 Plans and Pricing

BillFlow offers subscription plans with the following terms:

New users may receive a free trial period as advertised at the time of signup. No charge will be made until the trial period ends. You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. We will send a reminder email 3 days before your trial expires.

If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry the charge. After 3 failed attempts, your account may be downgraded to a limited access mode. You will receive email notifications for each failed attempt and a final notice before any service interruption.

BillFlow's subscription fee covers the cost of Plaid's services for syncing your bank accounts. Specifically, the Plaid Liabilities product is billed at $0.20 per connected account per month. These costs are absorbed into your BillFlow subscription fee โ€” you will never be charged separately by Plaid for using BillFlow.

6 Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Nothing in BillFlow constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or other professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

6.4 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BILLFLOW AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

๐Ÿ”ด BillFlow explicitly disclaims liability for any actions, omissions, data breaches, outages, errors, or financial harm caused by Plaid Technologies, Inc., Stripe, Inc., GoDaddy, or any other third-party service. By using BillFlow's Plaid integration, you acknowledge that your bank connections are subject to Plaid's terms, security practices, and liability limitations. By paying for BillFlow, you acknowledge that payment processing is subject to Stripe's terms and liability limitations.

6.6 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BillFlow and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

7.1 BillFlow Ownership

The BillFlow application, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and content (excluding your personal financial data), is the exclusive property of BillFlow and its operators. All rights reserved.

You retain full ownership of all personal financial data you enter into BillFlow. By using the Service, you grant BillFlow a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

9 Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

9.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

9.2 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@thebillflow.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve disputes within 30 days.

9.3 Arbitration

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration shall take place in Austin, Texas. You waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in class action lawsuits.

9.4 Exceptions to Arbitration

Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights.

9.5 Time Limitation

Any claim arising from use of the Service must be brought within one (1) year of the date the cause of action arose, or it is permanently barred.
