We strive to maintain 99% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice. Planned maintenance will be communicated when possible.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Portions of BillFlow's codebase are developed with the assistance of AI coding tools, working under human direction, review, and testing before any change reaches the live product. This is a normal part of how BillFlow is built and does not change the legal responsibilities set out in these Terms โ BillFlow remains fully responsible for the Service regardless of what tools were used to build any part of it. See Section 3.4 for the separate, optional in-app AI assistant feature that uses OpenAI's models to respond to user questions.

BillFlow stores authenticated financial data on BillFlow's servers and uses browser storage only for limited interface preferences and one-time migration markers. Sensitive account state is not intentionally persisted in browser localStorage. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
โ ๏ธ Important: BillFlow integrates with third-party services to provide banking connectivity and payment processing. By using these features, you agree to each provider's terms and privacy policies. BillFlow is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or data practices of these third-party providers.
BillFlow uses Plaid to securely connect your bank accounts, credit cards, and investment accounts. When you choose to connect a financial institution, you are interacting directly with Plaid's secure connection infrastructure.
Plaid Privacy Policy โ | Plaid End User Privacy Policy โ | Plaid Legal โ๐ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Storing and displaying the financial data that Plaid provides to us, maintaining secure access tokens, and calling Plaid's APIs on your behalf.
๐ต Plaid's Responsibility: The actual connection to your financial institution, credential handling and authentication with your bank, the security of the bank-to-Plaid data transmission, OAuth flows with financial institutions, and compliance with financial data security regulations (PCI DSS, SOC 2 Type II). Your banking credentials (username, password) are never shared with BillFlow โ they go directly to Plaid.
All subscription payments are processed by Stripe. BillFlow never sees, touches, or stores your credit card number, expiry date, or CVV. Payment data goes directly from your browser to Stripe's servers.
Stripe Privacy Policy โ | Stripe Terms โ๐ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Initiating payment requests, tracking subscription status, and providing subscription management within the app.
๐ต Stripe's Responsibility: All credit/debit card processing, fraud detection for payments, PCI DSS compliance for cardholder data, refund processing, and subscription billing cycles. BillFlow never has access to your card details.
BillFlow is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Your account data is stored in managed server-side storage; uploaded documents (receipts, statements) are stored in isolated, access-controlled cloud storage. API credentials and other sensitive configuration are kept in a dedicated secrets vault, never hardcoded in application code.
AWS Privacy Notice โ | AWS Data Privacy FAQ โ๐ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Configuring the infrastructure correctly, access controls, application-level security, and what data gets stored where.
๐ต AWS's Responsibility: Physical data center security, the underlying network and hardware, and the availability of the cloud services BillFlow runs on. This is the standard cloud "shared responsibility model" โ AWS secures the cloud itself; BillFlow is responsible for how it's used.
BillFlow's in-app assistant ("FlowBot") uses an OpenAI language model to answer questions about your bills, spending, and budgeting. Your message and a brief summary of relevant account figures (never your full account numbers, passwords, or raw bank data) are sent to OpenAI's API to generate a response.
OpenAI Privacy Policy โ | OpenAI Terms of Use โ | OpenAI API Data Usage โ๐ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Deciding what information is sent to OpenAI (a limited, purpose-built summary โ never raw account numbers, passwords, or a full transaction history), and never letting the assistant take actions on your account on your behalf.
๐ต OpenAI's Responsibility: Generating the response text, and its own data handling and retention practices for API requests, governed by OpenAI's API terms rather than ChatGPT's separate consumer terms.
If you choose to sign in or sign up using Google, BillFlow receives your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to create or verify your account. Your Google password is never shared with or seen by BillFlow.
Google Privacy Policy โ | Google APIs Terms of Service โ๐ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Requesting only the minimum information needed (name, email, profile picture) and verifying the identity token Google returns before creating or signing in to an account.
๐ต Google's Responsibility: Authenticating you, protecting your Google account credentials, and its own data handling practices, governed by Google's privacy policy rather than BillFlow's.
BillFlow uses Resend to send account-related emails โ sign-in codes, billing receipts and confirmations, support ticket confirmations, and similar notifications. Your email address, name, and the content of these transactional emails pass through Resend's systems in order to be delivered.
Resend Privacy Policy โ | Resend Terms of Service โ๐ด BillFlow's Responsibility: Deciding what emails are sent and what they contain.
๐ต Resend's Responsibility: Reliable delivery of the email itself, and its own data handling and retention practices for messages it processes on our behalf.
All BillFlow data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.
BillFlow stores your authenticated financial state on our servers. Browser localStorage is limited to non-sensitive interface preferences such as language, theme, sidebar state, onboarding markers, and consent choices. Eligible legacy browser copies from older BillFlow versions are reconciled with secure server state and removed only after a successful secure load or save.
In the event of a data breach that may affect your personal information, we will:
BillFlow offers subscription plans with the following terms:
New users may receive a free trial period as advertised at the time of signup. No charge will be made until the trial period ends. You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. We will send a reminder email 3 days before your trial expires.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry the charge. After 3 failed attempts, your account may be downgraded to a limited access mode. You will receive email notifications for each failed attempt and a final notice before any service interruption.
BillFlow's subscription fee covers the cost of Plaid's services for syncing your bank accounts. Specifically, the Plaid Liabilities product is billed at $0.20 per connected account per month. These costs are absorbed into your BillFlow subscription fee โ you will never be charged separately by Plaid for using BillFlow.

Nothing in BillFlow constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or other professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
